TALLAHASSEE —Florida State University College of Law alumnus Lawrence A. Kellogg has pledged $200,000 to create the Kellogg Family Professorship Endowment. The income generated from the endowment will be used to recruit or retain an outstanding legal scholar. Kellogg previously made a gift of $133,000 to endow the Kellogg Family Scholarship, which is awarded to students who worked their way through college or who are supporting children while attending law school.

“Earning a law degree from Florida State tremendously enriched my life and the lives of my family members, so I want to give back,” said Kellogg. “I have chosen to support the faculty with my latest gift because it is critical that we continue to provide Florida State law students with a world-class education. I’ve seen first-hand – through the Florida State grads that I hire – what a wonderful job our professors are doing in preparing students for practice. ”

“We are all extremely grateful to Larry for his continued generous support of the law school,” said Dean Don Weidner. “What is remarkable is that, in addition to giving financially, he also stays very engaged with our students and is committed to helping them get jobs at his firm and elsewhere. Many of our students, graduates and faculty have been positively impacted by Larry.”

Kellogg is a 1981 graduate of the Florida State University College of Law and a member of its Board of Visitors. His son, Jason, is a 2002 graduate, and Jason’s wife, Cassandra, is a 2004 graduate. Larry and Jason are both partners at Levine Kellogg Lehman Schneider + Grossman LLP in Miami, where they focus on complex litigation and arbitration matters, including securities and fraud actions. Cassandra practices at Gautier & Hasty, P.L. in Coral Gables.
